Eighth grade girls field hockey team ends season with eight wins, no losses and one tie. The Manhasset girl's cross country team wins the conference team championship at Bethpage State Park. Co-workers of Frank Caputo at the Manhasset Post Office establish a fund for him in his battle against brain cancer. Announcement made that Manhasset superintendent of schools will retire April 30, 2005. The high school presents the musical, South Pacific. Carlo Manganillo, mayor of Plandome Manor, will not seek a fourth term. New and improved arrival procedures implemented at Munsey Park to combat congestion. Manhasset crew dominates Long Island Frostbite Regatta as three girls boats win gold medals.

Of the three candidates running for MLFD/ WD commissioner, James Sharkey wins. The Manhasset Community Fund's annual appeal to help support local charities gets off to a great start. The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, sponsored by Manhasset Park District, the Town of North Hempstead and the Americana, is held on the Mary Jane Davies Green. Champions for Charity, the Americana's annual holiday shopping benefit, gets underway. Congress approves $500,000 for the Town of North Hempstead's 311 Communications Management System. The school board makes changes in the business office, including hiring a new interim assistant superintendent of business, Dr. Austin Gavin. Bobby Anastasia wins the "Maggie Award" for community service. Chase Bank opens its second bank in Manhasset - its 32nd in Nassau County. The town breaks ground on new clubhouse at Harbor Links Golf Course. Holiday parties are held throughout the town. The Town of North Hempstead donates $16,000 to the Police Athletic League (PAL) to purchase portable defibrillators.
