Mark Sauvigne

Mark Sauvigne has announced he will seek a second term as MPD commissioner. Mr. Sauvigne has been a Manhasset resident for nearly 25 years. Whether coaching CYO or PAL, attending a MAAC meeting or helping run a St. Mary's golf outing, he is a constant presence in community activities. Although the MPD has accomplished much during his tenure, he is eager to strive for greater achievements.

With parking irregularities under control and the balance sheet in good shape thanks to work from fellow Commissioners Rolston and Roberts, Mr. Sauvigne strongly feels it is now time to shift the focus to acquiring available land for park development. Coaching various sports teams has helped him realize how deficient Manhasset's available field space and park land is. With student participation in athletics in our district at an all-time high, the lack of field facilities must be addressed. Not to give our children the opportunity to pursue their hopes and dreams would be a travesty. Mr. Sauvigne believes now is the time for the MPD to take definitive action toward that end but he needs your help. Please come out and vote on Tuesday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Manhasset Lakeville Company #1 firehouse on Bayview Avenue and show your support. Together we can make a difference.
