On Wednesday, Nov. 10 the Manhasset Girls Swim Team qualified four girls for the state championships. The Indians 200yd freestyle relay team of Whitney Quackenbush, Amanda Goldstein, Morgan Cotter and Chrissy Brodt finished 1st by more than 3 seconds to earn an automatic berth to the New York State Public High School Swim Championships. The girls won convincingly breaking their previous school record by swimming a 1:43.82. In the past 10 years the MHS swim team has finished in the top 3 in this event 9 of 10 times. However, this is their first state berth since 1998.

" We want to break the county record of 1:42.8," said all four girls in unison when asked about their goal at the state championships. "I'm extremely proud of the girls" stated Coach McGrane, "This relay team is a true representation of what teamwork is all about."

Qualifying individually for states for Manhasset is Chrissy Brodt in the 200yd free and 100yd free.
