Hinda Squires Levy of Port Washington died on Oct. 26, 2004. She was the beloved wife of Gary Levy, mother of Peter and Amanda Squires and stepmother of Matthew Levy, daughter of Miriam and the late Arnold Frankel, sister of Janet (Shalom) and Alan (Jodi) Frankel.

A longtime member of the Sea Cliff elementary school staff, her love of children and her skill as a sensitive professional made her a treasured teacher. She was an active member and religious educator at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock. She especially enjoyed her participation in the women's a capella group "Willow."

Her funeral was held on Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Sunset Chapels in Manhasset. There will be a memorial celebration of Hinda's life at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock, 48 Shelter Rock Road, Manhasset, on Sunday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m.
