The Manhasset girls swim team had a busy week, swimming Cold Spring Harbor, Farmingdale and Garden City. The girls started the week well capturing the Division D title by defeating Cold Spring Harbor on Tuesday. On Wednesday the Indians defeated Farmingdale 93-82 in front of a capacity crowd to increase their win streak to seven.

This set up a meet between unbeaten Garden City (7-0) and Manhasset (7-0) at King's Point on Friday, Oct. 22.

The Garden City swim team has won 5 consecutive county titles and has not lost a dual meet in 4 years. The meet was very intense in front of a spirited SRO crowd at King's Point.

Garden City took an early lead then Manhasset responded to pull even. The meet went back and forth, each team adjusting to the other team's moves. Almost every swimmer from both teams had personal best times. In the end, Garden City had a little too much for the Indians, defeating them 101-84 in a highly contested matchup. "We swam incredibly well tonight," stated Manhasset Coach McGrane. "The girls were pumped for the meet and were inspired by the home crowd's energy level."
