The Manhasset girls swim team is off to another fast start. The Indians defeated Hicksville 96-68 and Massapequa 96-77 this past week to improve to 3-0.

In defeating Hicksville, the girls won all 11 swim events. The winning 200 medley team of Whitney Quackenbush, Meghan Shea, Johanna LoVecchio and Morgan Cotter won the first event in a time of 2:09.2. The 200-yard freestyle was won by Amanda Goldstein in 2:22.1. The 200-yard IM was won by Chrissy Brodt in a time of 2:20.29. The 50-yard free was won by Whitney Quackenbush in a time of 27.10. Johanna LoVecchio won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:09.3. The 100-yard free was won by Chrissie Gotimer in 1:01.3. The 500-yard free was won by Chrissy Brodt in a time of 5:27. The 200-yard free relay team of Whitney Quackenbush, Amanda Goldstein, Morgan Cotter and Chrissy Brodt had a winning time of 1:48.52.

The 100-yard backstroke was won by Morgan Cotter in 1:14. The 100-yard breastroke was won by Allison Haspel in 1:24. The meet concluded with the winning 400-yard free relay team of Amanda Goldstein, Chrissie Gotimer, Morgan Cotter and Chrissy Brodt finishing in a time of 4:11.

The meet vs Massapequa was a rematch of last year's Division Championship meet that resulted in a tie. This year would be a different ending. The Indians dominated from the start winning the 200-yard medley relay (Whitney Quackenbush, Samantha Reiss, Chrissy Brodt, Amanda Goldstein) in a time of 2:03.18. Many of the girls posted season or personal bests. Leading the way was Chrissy Brodt: 2:01.3, Johanna LoVecchio: 2:19.2 and Meghan Shea: 2:19.7 who took 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 200-yard free. Junior Elena Yee posted personal best 2:34.48 in a winning 200-yard IM swim. The girls took complete control of the meet by finishing 1st: Morgan Cotter 26.28, 2nd: Whitney Quackenbush 27.3 and 3rd: Dana Matesich 27.5 in the 50-yard free.

Other personal bests posted in this meet were swam by Meghan Shea 1:02.74 in the 100-yard free, Jaclyn Carey 1:13.10 100-yard fly, Stephanie Perez 7:02 500-yard free, Amanda Usher 7:33 500-yard free, Whitney Quackenbush 1:11.3 100-yard backstroke, Dana Matesich 1:13.2 100-yard backstroke and Allison Haspel 1:23.04 100-yard breastroke.

Next up for the girls are Cold Spring Harbor and Syosset.
