A man who is believed to have committed a series of robberies throughout Nassau County hit Steiner's Bakery in Manhasset on Sept. 8 at 5:55 p.m. According to police reports, the man, who is described as a white male, about 5'10" tall, wearing khaki pants, work boots, rubber gloves with a blue and white bandana over his face, entered Steiner's at 432 Plandome Road just about closing time. He struck the 17-year old clerk on the head and stole an undetermined amount of money. His victim was taken to North Shore University Hospital.
Nassau County Police believe that the same man has committed robberies of stationery stores, vitamin stores and bakeries in Massapequa, Massapequa Park, Lynbrook, Mineola, East Meadow, Garden City Park, Merrick, Hicksville, Franklin Square and Rockville Centre. During some of these robberies he wore a fake mustache and beard. It is believed that his left arm is covered with tattoos.
