Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Adopt-a-Pole Program
The Manhasset Chamber of Commerce held its annual Adopt-a-Pole Breakfast at Millie's in Americana Manhasset, thanks to the generosity of Mr. Frank Castagna. The program commenced with the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Anthony M. Buzzitta, vice commander of American Legion, Manhasset Post 304. Those in attendance were welcomed by Breakfast Chairperson Rita Eredics and by the Chamber's co-Presidents, Rae Dowling and Diane Harragan.
Manhasset/Great Neck EOC Holds Third Annual Dinner
North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman, Town Clerk Michelle Schimel, and Councilman Wayne Wink recently attended the Manhasset/Great Neck EOC 3rd annual dinner honoring former-Supervisor May Newburger, Brain and Pamela Vincent, Alfred Dugger and Cavrel Howell for their commitment and support.
On The Bay
The Bermuda Race has come a long way since 1906 when the start of the race was in Gravesend Bay when only three teams began the 635-mile passage to Bermuda. Last Friday afternoon, June 17th, 157 boats in 13 classes in five divisions got underway off Castle Hill Lighthouse, at the entrance to Newport Harbor, in the 44th Newport-Bermuda Race. The Race Committee onboard a Coast Guard cutter gave each division a downwind start, ratcheting the excitement level up another notch for those who ventured out in boats large and small to send off their family and friends on this major ocean racing event.
Manhasset Soccer Club Announces Registration for Fall 2004 Intramural Soccer
The registration deadline for fall intramural soccer for grades pre-k through third grade has been extended to July 15. Registration forms are available at www.manhassetsoccer.com. Completed forms and checks should be mailed to Manhasset Soccer Club, P.O. Box 341, Manhasset, NY 11030. The intramural fee is $95 for players in grades kindergarten - third grade and $50 for players in pre-k.
