Joseph Francis FitzPatrick passed away in May, 2004, in Annapolis, MD, at age 66 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on Nov. 16, 1937, to Edward and Helen FitzPatrick and raised in the Grand Concourse section of the Bronx, NY. Mr. FitzPatrick was a 1955 graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School, a 1960 graduate of Manhattan College School of Engineering and a 1964 graduate of Fordham Law School.

Mr. FitzPatrick had a professional career as an engineer and an attorney that spanned more than 40 years. He was an associate general counsel with the Phelps Dodge Corporation, general counsel of the Lurgi Corporation in charge of international contracts in the field of engineering design and construction and general counsel of the Lotepro Corporation.

He was a long-time resident of Manhasset and a resident of White Plains. Mr. FitzPatrick formally retired and moved to Annapolis, MD, in June of 2000.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Kathleen; his children, Brian J. FitzPatrick of Annapolis, MD, Christopher M. FitzPatrick of Harrison, NY, Mary Kay FitzPatrick-Carroll of East Stroudsburg, PA; his grandchildren, Thomas Carroll, Patrick Carroll, Katie FitzPatrick, Daniel FitzPatrick and by his brother, Dominic A. FitzPatrick of Manhasset. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Edward J. FitzPatrick.

Donations in his name may be made to the Manhattan College Scholarship Fund, Manhattan College Parkway, Riverdale, NY 10471.

Eileen V. McBride McCormick, 33-year resident of Manhasset, died at St. Francis Hospital on May 16 from complications of congestive heart failure. She is survived by her sister, Rose Marie Brown (Minneapolis, MN); by her daughters, Mary Clare Eros (Shepherdstown, WV) Michael (Crownpoint, IN) and Bill (Freeport, NY) and by 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, John, in February 2004 and by an infant daughter (Ellen) and by Patricia McCormick Rutherford in May 1990.

Eileen was born in Cresco, IA, and graduated from Adelphi University at the age of 60. Eileen served as Pharmacy Times editor for over 20 years and enjoyed writing letters and poetry throughout her long life. A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Eilleen served as a Eucharistic and consolation minister for many years. A devoted spouse, mother, sister and friend, Eileen's devout faith and love of family were lifelong traits that all who know and loved her will sorely miss.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities or to any chapter of MADD. Burial will be in Minneapolis, MN.
