How puzzling that a secular newspaper--the Manhasset Press--gives prominent coverage to the opinions and complaints of a group of religious dissidents railing against the mainstream of their congregation. The Voice of the Faithful harangue might interest readers of The Long Island Catholic, but do Manhasset Press readers really care?
The Catholic Church, instituted by Jesus Christ, is administered by human beings, all imperfect. Its 2000-year history is a testament to the fact that it has withstood more devastating situations than this--while keeping its structure intact.
VOTF is indignant that the Church refuses to provide them a meeting place. But would the Unitarian Universalist Congregation have provided a forum had the VOTF stated its intention of destroying the UUC as it exists today?
