George C. Fearn, 77, passed away on April 7, 2004. He was a Manhasset resident for over 40 years and had recently moved to Port Washington. He was employed by the Singer Sewing Machine Company as director of inventory control for 36 years prior to his retirement in 1982. He and his wife of 55 years enjoyed their retirement years doing what they loved: gardening, golfing and spending their winters in Hutchinson Island, FL. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's, Manhasset since 1962, was a member of the Holy Name Society and an active member of the CYO basketball and baseball programs.
He is survived by his wife Claire; daughters Sharon Whelan, Maryanne Fearn, Susan Brown (Daniel); son Dennis Fearn; grandchildren William Whelan, Megan Whelan, Melissa Brown, Kelsey Brown as well as extended family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his brother Arthur Fearn and son Kevin Fearn.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on April 13, at St. Mary's Church, Manhasset. Internment was at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale.
