Ready, Set...Fair!
The tents are up, the rides are ready and all is in place for the 2004 SCA Fair to be held, rain or shine, this Saturday, May 1. Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to a great selection of rides and games, there will also be many new attractions. Be sure to look for the exciting vendors under the big tent and treat your taste buds to the delicious selections in the international food area. In the plant booth, there also will be a new assortment of fancy potted plants and hanging baskets. Look for a special table of low priced, pre-wrapped plants, perfect for Mother's Day. The Big Tent is sure to be a shoppers' paradise. Also, check out our new rock climbing wall and super slide. This year's chairpersons, Joanne Goldberg and Gloria Gerba wish to thank all of the hard-working volunteers who have put so much time and effort into the planning of this event. Special thanks to the committee chair people for their commitment, enthusiasm and hard work. The SCA would once again also like to thank all the generous underwriters and grand raffle contributors. Manhasset School District Citizens' Advisory Committee For Finance
The Manhasset School District is at a historical crossroad. The 2004-2005 budget process has been one of the most difficult in recent memory. As a community and a district we are in an extremely uncomfortable position: we are faced with hard economic realities, yet we want to maintain the excellent standards of education for which our District is known. Members of the CAC for Finance feel that Manhasset School District needs changes in its fiscal culture. In response to a charge from the board, the committee completed studies and delivered three reports: Per Pupil Costs, Long Range Planning and the MEA Contract to the board of education that shed fresh light on issues facing the District. The committee supports further progress in embracing these fiscal and cultural changes.

Manhasset Lacrosse Hall of Fame 2004 Induction Class
The 16th annual Golf and Induction Dinner is being held at the Plandome Country Club Thursday, May 6. There is still time to get in on this great day. The boys and girls varsity high school teams will be well represented at the dinner and induction ceremony.
