February 26 Board of Education Meeting
The Board of Education (BOE) held a meeting on Feb. 26 in the high school auditorium, and it was, by all accounts, the best attended meeting ever. The face of the crowd was much younger than has been customary at these meetings. Parents attended with their children, staff and alumni were present, and students whose teams or programs were being cut were sprinkled throughout the auditorium. The BOE has targeted cuts in specific programs and, while all cuts are not yet official, residents attended the meeting to learn more about the rationale behind the cuts and to have their voices heard as they spoke in favor of the programs close to their hearts.
