The Manhasset Boys Swim team's win streak of five consecutive meets came to an end in a closely disputed contest with the Massapequa Chiefs. Earlier in the week, the Indians guaranteed themselves a chance at a conference crown by defeating the Wantagh Warriors 110-73.

The following day Manhasset lost in a closely contested match 95-90 to Massapequa. The meet was decided in the last leg of the last event (400 yd free relay). The Indians are 4-1 in Conference II competition this season. Next week, they face an undefeated Great Neck North team for a chance to tie for the conference crown.

Listed below are some of the personal bests posted this week by Manhasset swimmers. Senior John Love swam a 1:01.78 in the 100yd free. Juniors Mike Zito 57.22 100 yd free and 2:08.14 200 yd free, James O'Hanlon 1:00.74 100 yd free and 26.75 50 yd free, Jeff Hubt 1:05.9 100 yd free, 2:21.37 200 yd free and 6:36.75 500 yd free. Sophomores Alex Smitham 2:34.06, 6:10.11 500 yd free and 1:00.06 100 yd free, Jimmy Mulderrig 2:13.1 200 yd free, Brian Cogan 1:05.74 100 yd fly and 59.76 100 yd free, John Kenneally 1:07.30 100 yd back, Phil Kim 1:15.94 100 yd breastroke. Freshmen Mike Gotimer 3:06.2 200 yd IM, James McKenna 1:21.46 100 yd fly.
