The aftermath of the bus fire at Macy's on Thanksgiving.

During the snowstorm on Friday, Dec. 5, Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department Company 2 responded to a car fire in front of North Shore University Hospital entrance #3 on Community Drive in Manhasset. Engine-8725 extinguished the car fire with a single hose line.

Immediately following that call, M-LFD Company 3 was called to another car fire on East Shore Road underneath the train trestle. 3rd Deputy Chief Kyle Dugger arrived first on the East Shore Road scene and confirmed a fully involved car fire. The crew of Engine-8725, who was still packing up from their car fire, was redirected to the scene to join the members of Company 3. All units were released in about 25 minutes.

On Thanksgiving evening two mini-buses caught fire in the parking lot of Macy's in Manhasset. Fire was extinguished by M-LFD Companies 1 and 2.

If you want to know more about these calls, the locations of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department firehouses, and other information about this active all volunteer fire department, visit their website, www.MLFD.com.
