Bravo to the two souls who wrote letters re; what has happened to Christmas. I too have been wondering when Christmas turned into "Happy Holidays". I was in Barnes and Noble the other day and saw a Hanukkah table of books, a Kwanzaa table of books, and a "Happy Holidays" table of books with Christmas books on it. I was very offended by that and told the manager so. When did Christmas become an unspeakable word? Why can all the other holidays be acknowledged by name and not Christmas? Furthermore, that Christmas is not on the school calendar is a BIG oversight and I hope will be corrected next year. Same thing for the tree lighting. It IS a Christmas tree NOT a holiday tree and should be acknowledged as such. Manhasset is a wonderful community filled with all races and religions, we should acknowledge ALL of our respective holidays not some to the exclusion of others and we should not be afraid to speak them by name.

So whatever your holiday, be it Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Kwanzaa or maybe another holiday that I may not know about, may it be happy and healthy for you and your families and may you all have a very happy New Year.
