The Nov. 10 Manhasset Board of Education (BOE) meeting was for the sole purpose of discussing feedback from the community resulting from the October meeting when the BOE and Manhasset School District unveiled their conceptual plan for renovation and capital spending to the tune of over $62,000,000. The 6th grade girls coached by John Boylan, Mike Pecorino, Bob Henrickson and Bill Samela with Statistician Jack Vivinetto, won 3 games in 4 days. First St Mary's defeated Maria Regina with high score going to Caitlyn Samela and baskets by Berit Henrickson, Brittany Carroll and Christina Longo, Molly Brown and Claudia Rogers. There were two events on local waters this past weekend. The frostbiters were out on Manhasset Bay on Sunday afternoon with little to no wind, and over on the Mill Pond, the Mill Pond Model YC was busy on Saturday morning sailing their annual Millennium Cup Regatta. According to Greg Danilek, the vice commodore of the Mill Pond Model YC, the Millennium Cup is scored on the low point scoring system and the season Championship is based on the best average.
