Virginia B. Meyer, 93, dies on Monday, Nov. 3,2003. A long-time resident of Manhasset, she had been president of the Guild of St. Francis Hospital, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and a member of Port Washington Yacht Club and North Hempstead country Club.
She and her husband of 56 years, Frederick A. Meyer, moved to Stuart, FL, in 1985. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and moved back to Long Island last year.
Surviving family include her son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Kathleen Meyer, Priscilla Russell, former wife of her deceased son, Frederick Jr., all of Manhasset; a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Ralph Metcalfe of Houston; five grandchildren, Frederick and Kevin Meyer, Georgia Alexander, Kathleen Nidermaier and Megan Meyer; and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Sean Nidermaier.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 112:15 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manhasset.

We mourn the death of Clare Williams Heinzen of Plandome, New York. She was the wife of Dr. Bruce Heinzen and mother of Jerome, Barbara, Thomas and Nancy. She was President of the Manhasset School Board in the early 1970s and known for her artistry as quilter. Clare was a lovely person, loved by many. A memorial service will be held at the Congregational Church of Manhasset, 1845 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, NY, at noon, on Sunday, November 23, 2003.
