When we tell our readers to "Get Smart!" we're not referring to that old television comedy, but to the many and varied opportunities to learn offered in our community this fall season. That aquamarine booklet sent out by the Manhasset Continuing Education Program has an embarrassment of riches, from cooking and crafts to foreign languages and fine arts, dancing and fitness. There are also opportunities listed every week in our Manhasset Public Library's "Update." Lecturers from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, dramatic programs by Shirley Romaine and current events with Michael D'Innocenzo are only a few opportunities to learn. Slightly farther afield is C.W. Post, which offers its Hutton House lectures, as good as graduate seminars for adults. St. Ignatius Retreat House offers spiritual riches and the Unitarian Universalist Society has stimulating lectures on national and world affairs. With all these options we are indeed fortunate. Let's take advantage of some of them and make this a profitable fall season.
