The "Thank You" letter to the editor by Joyce Wright in the Sept. 25 Manhasset Press expressed concern that "...none of the teachers will honestly respond to the current 'climate study' for fear of reprisal."

While we appreciate the concern expressed by Joyce Wright, we must clarify that the climate study is anonymous. To maintain anonymity, the district is providing individual envelopes for teachers who wish to mail their comments directly to the consulting company conducting the survey.

The Manhasset Education Association has expressed concerns about faculty morale for several years. The Manhasset School District has not undertaken a staff survey in almost 10 years. We are pleased that the Board of Education and the Superintendent are conducting this survey and look forward to the District bringing the results to fruition.
