Shame on a person who would write such a disparaging letter about Phillis Clark. Manhasset has always been a village where the pros and cons have always been discussed rationally and without personal attacks. Mrs. Clark has never represented a "Band of Reactionaries."

I know Mrs. Clark and while I have not always agreed with her, I have respected her opinions and her right to be critical of matters with which she disagrees. She has no political ambitions and her interests have always been to protect the environment, her neighbors and Manhasset. As for the agenda of the Manhasset Park District, should we recall their rather recent attempt to confiscate by condemnation the Wright Brothers store parking area.

Has anyone observed the abuse of the Valley Park around the ball field? Have you observed how the adults watching the children playing, park their cars on the grass about the ball field? An adequate paved parking area is a short distance away.

I believe Mrs. Clark is trying to preserve our Manhasset Lakeville water supply and her neighbors from parking abusers.
