William A. Albano, of Manorville and Key Biscayne, FL, formerly of Manhasset, died peacefully at home on July 23, 2003, after a brief but courageous fight with cancer. Beloved husband for 60 years of Jacqueline. Father of Gale Jaeger of Waverly, PA, Jeri Bourguet of Port Washington, Andrea O'Gorman of Asheville, NC, and Wendy Pearson (deceased). Grandfather of nine. A WWII veteran, he was vice president of sales for Frankel Associates of NYC, prior to retirement. He was an avid golfer, gardener and a person who enjoyed the beauty around him. His loving nature and good humor will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted at Central Suffolk Hospital, Riverhead and the American Lung Cancer Association.
Kathryn Jackson Egor died after a brief illness on Aug. 8, 2003 in her home surrounded by her family. The cause of death was cancer. Mrs. Egor was a longtime resident of Manhasset. She was a Democratic Committeewoman for many years and was a Friend of the Manhasset Library.
Mrs. Egor is survived by her husband, Boris Egor; her daughter, Judith Egor of Manhattan; a son, Gregory Egor of Roslyn; a granddaughter, Julia Katherine Egor of Manhasset; and two sisters, Beatrice Marz of Malverne and Anne Jackson Wallach of Manhattan.
There will be a private memorial service held by the family at a later date. The family is deeply grateful for the help of the Good Shepherd Hospice for being with Kathryn and her family throughout the illness.
