You know his politics. But do you know that Assemblyman Thomas DiNapoli throws caution into the blender when it comes to ordering breakfast at Bruce's favoring a full-egg omelet, which we enviously eyed while downing the more bland egg-white-only version? Usually when we see the assemblyman at a breakfast/lunch/dinner meeting, he is busy working the room, talking and listening intently with constituents, and come to think of it, one rarely sees him eating at all. So, it was a treat to sit down with him after a particularly strenuous legislative season and chat with him on a range of topics ranging from his recent move to an apartment in Great Neck Plaza to his strategy of staying effective in a sometimes dysfunctional Albany governmental branch, the state legislature.

Club M.A.X. Continues to Strive for 'Xcellence'
For so many mothers and fathers in this community, summer weekday afternoons mean the same thing. When the clock strikes noon, Manhasset moms and dads get ready to greet their zealously chattering kids at the street corner after another morning at Manhasset Summer Center. For decades parents have been putting child after child through the Summer Center program. And for just as many years parents have been rushing to meet their youngsters to collect their projects, baked goods, sports equipment and, if they're lucky, a quick hug as they stampede off the bus.

Temp-Rite A/C Dodgers Win Championship!
In a thrilling come-from-behind victory, the Dodgers prevailed 15 to 14 over an up and coming Yankees team in the Division championship game on June 16. The Yankees had shocked the undefeated regular season champion Mets in the semifinals, and had built a 5 run lead by the 4th inning of the final. But in the bottom of the 4th with two outs and the bases empty, the patient Dodger hitters struck quickly for 3 runs, and continued their rally with 4 more runs in the 5th. The defense also stiffened as the girls in blue allowed only one more Yankee run after the 4th, and they held on through a tense last inning, the game ending on a bases loaded strikeout.
