  • Sports: Manhasset 9/10 Year-Old-Girls 2-0 in Williamsport Play

The feisty girls of the 9/10 year old Williamsport team have gone 2-0 in their first games of tournament play. Opening up at Valley Park on June 28 against Albertson-Herricks, these tough players fought to an 8-6 win in 95 plus degree heat. On Tuesday evening, another scorcher, the girls squared off against a Merrillon team that won their first tournament game 31-7! Patience proved a valuable tool as our girls drew 16 walks! Couple the walks with ultra-agressive base running and the runs will score. The final tally was 12-10 Manhasset, but the game was not as close in this author's eyes. Great play from 5th graders, Maggie Richenbach and Kristen Leung as well as 4th graders Jenna Accardi, Alison Brosky, Cara Cappellini, Juliette deVenoge,Christina Gambino, Morgan Mallon, Meg Markham, Claudia Sbuttoni, Nicole Sockett and the enthusiasm of our two third graders, Paige Pacent and Alex Wysota. Congratulations and Good Luck on Saturday, 10 a.m. at Valley Park. Come on, Manhasset, let's get out and support the Manhasset Little League's finest. FULL STORY
