I have just read in Newsday (June 22, "GOP to Nassau: 'Drop Dead!'") about the role of county minority leader Peter Schmitt in torpedoing Nassau County's need to save money by establishing a sewer and storm water authority.

Working in league with State Senator Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) he assisted in getting this legislation tabled in order to force Supervisor Suozzi to make cuts that would hurt residents in every town and village - a naked attempt to create a phony campaign issue for the next election.

In light of this dishonorable tactic, might Anton Publications find a better Republican spokesperson to author the minority report column - one who might seem to be on the side of the residents?
