Frank J. Caldwell of West Hempstead, formerly of Manhasset, died on May 29, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Emilie Joan; children Msgr. Francis J., Mary Emilie Gallagher, Gerard M., Eileen Mary Stapleton, Christopher J., Kenneth J., Peter J., Joseph P., Patrick W., and Toby G; by 22 grandchildren and his brother, Robert. He was predeceased by his sister, Regina Schneider. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Agnes Cathedral on Monday, June 2. Donations in his name to Mercy Cancer Care, 1000 North Village Avenue, Rockville Centre, NY 11570 would be appreciated.

Rebecca Burt Tweed died on Feb. 11, 2003, at home in Somers, NY. She was a long-time resident of Manhasset, living in North Strathmore for 48 years. She was pre-deceased by her husband Tom. She was mother to Linda Wall of Westchester, NY and Bette Kumasaka of Grass Valley, CA. She has four grandchildren, Jennifer and Karsten, Kylie and Kenji.

She was born in Parkers Landing, PA and attended the University of Pennsylvania. She was secretary to the Cleveland Indians baseball team before she moved to California to marry Irwin Thomas Tweed in 1942. They lived in Bethesda, MD, before moving to Great Neck, and finally Manhasset in 1953. She was active with the Girl Scouts and attended the Congregational Church of Manhasset. She enjoyed the North Strathmore Women's Club for many years. A graveside service was held Feb. 14, 2003 at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, in Bala Cynwyd, PA, near Philadelphia.
