Later this month Manhasset will be asked to elect a new member to the school board, and so we'd like to take this opportunity to lend our support to Marie Horowitz.

Marie is an outstanding candidate. Her academic credentials in education are impeccable and her hands on experience in the SCA (and multiple other committees in the school system) has provided her with a working knowledge of the Manhasset schools as they function today. In addition, her own children are currently based in the primary and secondary schools, giving her a personal overview of the varying issues confronting our school community.

More importantly, however, is Marie's sincere and enthusiastic love of all of our Manhasset children. As our community grows and the schools expand we need a member of the school board who understands that, at the end of the day, it is a child who will be affected by her decisions. It is the community at large that will benefit from this personal involvement with our young people.
