Fatal Auto Accident at Manhasset Woods Road
A fatal auto accident took place at the intersection of Northern Boulevard and Manhasset Woods Road at 12:42 p.m. on Monday, March 17. According to police, the driver of a van belonging to Popular Plumbing and Heating Co. was heading east in the left lane on Northern Boulevard. At the traffic light a car was waiting in the turning lane to make a left turn onto Manhasset Woods Road. The driver of the van made a left turn in front of the waiting car and collided with a Ford driven by Marilyn Sanint of Bethpage, then struck a westbound Mercury being driven west by James Quinn, a 39-year-old man from Bayshore. Mr. Quinn's passenger, William Scelzi, was killed instantly. Mr. Quinn remains in critical condition in North Shore Hospital. All three vehicles were impounded.
