Supervisor May W. Newburger announced today Moody's Investors Service has upgraded the Town of North Hempstead's credit rating to Aa3 from A1 and assigned a MIG 1 rating for the town's short-term notes. Moody's indicated the upgraded rating reflects "the town's strong financial position" resulting from enhanced long-term planning and internal controls, and a declining debt burden driven by the town's debt management plan. Moody's highest quality note rating also reflects the town's "demonstrated market access."

Manhasset High School Varsity Girls Basketball Team played two Conference Games during the week. On Tuesday, Jan. 21 the Lady Indians traveled to Valley Stream South High School and after a hard fought game came away the winners 61-53.
