Robert (Bob) Grimm of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Sands Point, died on Nov. 22, 2002, in his 87th year. He was the loving husband of Jeanne, dear father of Dr. Ronald (Mary) of Canann, NH, Bruce (Doris) of Venice, FL, Richard of New York, NY, Barry (Lainy) of Manhasset, Kevin (Mary Ellen) of Manhasset, Joan Cullen of Manorville, NY, and Roberta (John) Cherchio of Martha's Vineyard, MA. He was pre-deceased by his son Roger.
He was the proud grandfather of 20 and great-grandfather of six. He is also survived by his dear sister-in-law, Patricia Firth of Queensbury, NY.
Mr. Grimm was a former member of North Hempstead Country Club where he was five time Club Champion and member of the Board of Governors for many years. An ardent golfer and boater, he was also a member of Manhasset Bay Yacht Club.
A memorial service will be held at a future date.
John Francis Rottmund of Manhasset, Quogue, NY, and Melbourne, FL, died on Nov. 13, 2002 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rita (nee Mastoloni), daughters Louise Pashcow of Brookville, NY, Eleanor Hannon of Manhasset, Francine Rottmund of Manhasset and Christine Shaw of Ridgewood, NJ. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Briana and Shannon Pashcow, John and Katie Hannon, Emily, Olivia and Annie Shaw. His brothers, Robert Rottmund of Mastic, NY, William Rottmund of Macungie, PA, and cousin Dolores Church of Coram, NY also survive him.
Mr. Rottmund was born in Brooklyn, NY on Sept. 25, 1928. He graduated from St. John's University School of Commerce in 1961. Mr. Rottmund was a partner of the firm of Mastoloni & Sons, Inc., a cultured pearl importing company in Manhattan for 46 years. He donated time, jewelry and money to many charitable causes including St. Francis Hospital. He was very active in the Diabetes Research Institute of Miami, Fl. He was honored as the Humanitarian of the Year in 1992 for his support of Juvenile Diabetes Research.
Mr. Rottmund moved to Manhasset in 1971 and enrolled all his daughters in St. Mary's R. C. School. All graduated from St. Mary's High School. His philanthropy was also extended to St. Mary's to which he donated jewelry and worked on fundraising. All his children were married at St. Mary's and his grandchildren have been baptized there.
