Billie H. Treiber, 86, died on Feb. 20, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh, NY, after a brief illness. She was born on March 19, 1915, the daughter of Harry Schwilch and Hilda W. (Maguire) Schwilch. She was the beloved wife of C. Frederick Treiber.

Billie and her husband, Fred, formerly of Munsey Park in Manhasset, were among the founding members of the Church of Our Saviour, Lutheran in Manhasset. Billie served as a member of the Altar Guild and the Ruth Circle. Her husband, Fred, was an active member of the Men's Fellowship.

Mrs. Treiber retired from B. Altman's, Manhasset, in 1977 and moved to Crestwood Village, Whiting, NJ, where she lived until 1999 when she moved back to New York to live with her granddaughter in Newburgh.

She is survived by her sister, Gayle Marie Guthrie of Jacksonville, FL; her son, W. Christian Treiber of Manhattan; daughter, Meridith Powers of Great Neck; granddaughter, Mrs. Kevin P. Daly, and two great-grandsons: Kevin Patrick Daly II, 4, and Joshua William Daly, 18 months, of Newburgh.

Memorial services will be held at the Church of Our Saviour, Lutheran, Manhasset, on Saturday, March 2, at 11 a.m.

Stephen W. O'Leary of Westbury, formerly of Plandome, died on Feb. 23, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Joan, and his children: Stephen Jr., Maureen Kaslow, Dennis, Peter, Sean and Brian; and by his grandchildren: Jenifer, Colin, Coleen, Caitlin, Meaghan, Kathleen, Daniel, Samantha and Emily. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Fairchild Funeral Chapel in Manhasset. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's R. C. Church in Manhasset at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, with interment following in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Flushing.

Helen C. Rapp, longtime resident of Manhasset, died on Feb. 20, 2002, in Francis House in Syracuse, NY. She was born in Oakland, CA. While living in Manhasset she was a member of St. Mary's R. C. Church. She served as historian for the Manhasset American Legion Post 304 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Ciccarelli of Hanson, MA, and Mary Anne Ciccarelli of Liverpool, NY. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Jennifer Crisp of Syracuse and Heather Dayon of Rahway, NJ; her great-grandson Jacob Dayon of Rahway, NJ; her step-granddaughter Heidi Kelley and step-great-granddaughters, Melanie Amanda Kelley and Ashley Katherine Kelley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's CHurch in Manhasset at 11 a.m. on March 2, 2002. Contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 839 Stewart Ave., Garden City, NY 11530.

Joe Huber, 82, died on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL, following a brief illness.

Joe lived in Manhasset and moved to Pensacola in 1995. After many years of ownership, he retired and sold Huber Wagon Works of Queens, NY, a business that was started by his grandfather after he emigrated from Germany. Joe's proudest accomplishment was the design and construction of mobile theater stages on truck bodies that brought Shakespeare and other fine arts out to the general public in Central Park and similar venues. A newspaper article written in 1964 stated that these classical performances outdrew the Beatles.

Joe graduated from Notre Dame University in 1942. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. Joe was an avid golfer, bridge player and a very active member of several; self-help groups for more than 43 years. He was renowned for helping others find the joy of living. The world is a better place because of him.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of New York City; son, Ted, and daughter-in-law, Carol Huber of Alta Loma, CA; daughter, Rosie, and son-in-law Charlie Bird of Pompton Plains, NJ; son, Joe Huber III and daughter-in-law Michelle Malloy of Seattle, WA; sister, Lorraine Huber Kramer and brother-in-law Joe Kramer of Fruitland, FL; and very special friend Barbara Roman of Molino, FL. Joe was the proud grandparent of four grandsons: Brad, James, Tristan and Evan; and four granddaughters: Michelle, Jennifer, Sarah and Emily.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, at Fairchild's Funeral Chapel, 1570 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset.
