Alfred Andrew Fracchia, M. D. of Plandome died on Jan. 2 7, 2002, after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife, "Timmie," by his children John, Paul, Diane, Alfred, Claudia and Michael. He is also survived by his sister, Vivian Bottari, three nieces, two nephews and 19 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Fairchild Funeral Home in Manhasset. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's R. C. Church in Manhasset with interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.
Margaret T. Egan of Stuart, FL, died on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002. Mrs. Egan moved to Stuart from Manhasset in 1986. She was the daughter of Martin W. and Margaret E. Urquhart. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Edward J. Egan of Stuart; by two sons, James Egan of Lynbrook and Kevin M. Egan of Crescent, OK; two daughters, Margaret E. Hunter of Palm City and Lynn M. Cannon of Boca Raton; and by nine grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City. John Eugene (Gene) Hart Jr. died peacefully of complications from colon cancer on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001. Married in 1957, he is survived by his wife, Claire; his elder brother, Richard of Woodbridge, CT, and younger sister Berry of New Orleans, LA. He is also survived by his children, Steve, Kevin, Gary and Nancy and by seven grandchildren. Gene was born in New York City on Dec. 31, 1928. He grew up in Manhasset, where he lived with his parents on Ryder Road in Munsey Park from 1928 to 1948. He attended St. Mary's School in Manhasset and belonged to the local Boy Scouts and the Village Bath Club. He was educated at Yale University, earning a degree in English in 1952. He was an advertising executive with Young and Rubican, working in their Manhattan, Houston and San Francisco offices for 30 years. He retired in Tucson in 1990 where his interests included woodworking, sailing, radio control model yachting and reading. He will be remembered for his unique wit and great sense of humor. The family held a private memorial service.
