Isabelle Wunder Walger, 101, a native of Maryland, died on Dec. 15, 2001. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Louis M. Walger Jr. For 40 years she lived in Strathmore Vanderbilt in Manhasset. She was branch president of the American Red Cross, and an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society, Burrwood Home for the Blind, St. Mary's Rosary Society, Nursing Sisters of the Poor and the Needlework Guild. She was also past president of the Strathmore Vanderbilt Women's Club and a member of the Daughters of 1812.
She is survived by her son, Louis M. Walger III and his wife, Terry; by four granddaughters: Denise McCafferty of Sparks, MD; Jennifer Ertel of Towson, MD; Christine Clower of Amelia Island, FL; and Meredith Searcy of Destin, FL, and by eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Ruck Funeral Home in Towson. A Mass was celebrated at St. Michael's R. C. Church in Fernanda Beach, FL, on Dec. 18. Interment will be at Lorraine Park Mausoleum, Baltimore, MD, on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 1:30 p.m. Donations in her name may be made to the American Red Cross.
Lucy H. Siegel, 98, died on December 9, 2001. She was a longtime resident of Manhasset. She was the wife of the late Richard G. Siegel Jr. and is survived by her daughter Lucy Field and also by her granddaughters Lucy F. Lucas and Amy F. Watson.
During the 60+ years Lucy Siegel lived in Manhasset she had been an active member of Christ Church, the American Red Cross and the St. Francis Guild.
Interment was December 13 at Nassau Knolls, Port Washington. There will be a memorial service on Friday, January 11, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Christ Church in Manhasset. Contributions in her name may be made to the Restoration Fund of Christ Church, 1355 Northern Blvd., Manhasset, NY 11030.
