Two hometown firefighters, Firefighter Richard Ruggiero and Captain John Fogelman, Company #1 Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department, were honored recently for their participation with the New York City Police Department at the 9-11 World Trade Center disaster. Firefighter Ruggiero is a lieutenant with the Queens Organized Crime Division and Captain Fogelman is a detective sergeant with the same division. The two officers were part of a group of NYPD first responders to the WTC, who were honored for their heroic efforts during pre-game ceremonies at Dolphin Stadium two weeks ago in Miami, FL.
