Allen Dawson, 80, retired coach of Manhasset High School, who had been in a coma since being struck on the head by a shot put on Nov. 30, died on Saturday at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary, and by his son, Glenn. No further details were available at the time this paper went to press.
Julia M. Tooher of Glen Cove died on Dec. 6, 2001. She was a former resident of Manhasset and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She was the sister of Edward Tooher and the late Kathleen Tooher and Marion Fitzsimmons. She is also survived by her nephews, Mark, Paul and William and her nieces Kate, Jean, Sue, Ann and Merry as well as by grandnieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Whitting Funeral Home in Glen Head. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at St. Boniface Martyr Church in Sea Cliff with interment at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in West Palm Beach, FL. Robert J. Sheahan of Manhasset died on Dec. 8, 2001. He was a retired NYPD Sergeant. He is survived by his wife Marilyn and his children, Kimberly, Robert Jr. and Todd. He was the son of Timothy and Catherine and brother of Timothy, Richard and Dennis. Funeral arrangements were under the auspices of the New Hyde Park Funeral Home on Lakeville Road in New Hyde Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's R. C. Church in Manhasset with interment following at Holy Rood Cemetery.
