On Dec. 11, Manhasset residents will be asked to come out of their homes and once again vote. Although, perhaps not as exciting as local, state or national elections, the elections of a Manhasset Park District Commissioner is an important one to those of us who live here, travel on the LIRR and/or have children growing up in this town. Chances are that Dec. 11 may be cold, perhaps even snowing, but it is important that we all participate and exercise our right to vote at the Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department on Bayview Ave. This is one of those elections that we sometimes take for granted or disregard, but really is important.
I am supporting Mark Sauvigne, who has been a Manhasset resident for 20 years and a friend since my family moved here eight years ago. I've had the pleasure coaching PAL with Mark, and currently serve on the Manhasset Athletic Advisory Committee with him. I have had one of my children reap the benefits of his volunteerism and coaching throughout the years. Mark is driven and dedicated to preserving our parks and sports fields and continues to support efforts to obtain property to expand these projects. His support for special senior citizen parking and his promise to support reformed parking permits and rid Manhasset of any parking permit abuse is what we need given our limited parking areas.
There really is only one choice, so mark your calendar for Dec. 11 and vote for Mark.
