With the "real" elections complete, it is time to reflect on what will affect Manhasset daily. I am supporting Mark Sauvigne for Manhasset Park District Commissioner.
I have known Mark for more than 20 years. Mark loves Manhasset. As an alumnus of St. Mary's High School, Mark has been around Manhasset and understands Manhasset. I know he will serve Manhasset well. Mark has been a resident of Manhasset for 20 plus years, a daily LIRR commuter to NYC, as well as currently a member of the Manhasset Athletic Advisory Committee and Manhasset Booster Club at the high school. Mark is very active with his wife and children in all aspects of town life.
Mark is selfless when it comes to Manhasset. Whether it is the Manhasset Baseball League and being instrumental in its start, or the CYO where Mark has volunteered and coached for more than 20 years, Mark does what needs to be done. He will do the same for the Manhasset Park District.
Mark knows the issues that can best be addressed by the Park District. He supports increasing parking spaces for senior citizens. He strongly opposes tiered parking and will give alternatives for our parking crunch. Mark opposes the minibuses from other towns cluttering up the train station lot, and ensures Manhasset residents have access to parking.
Mark will propose alternatives for additional parkland in Manhasset, including the possibility of condemnation of parts of the Whitney Estate to provide ball fields for the children and a senior citizens center.
Mark Sauvigne understands management and accountability. He will work to make sure the park district is managed properly and there is accountability in all the park district does. The Manhasset Park District has the ability to make a difference and with Mark Sauvigne as commissioner - they will. Please vote for Mark Sauvigne for Manhasset Park District Commissioner on Dec. 11. He is the right choice for Manhasset's tomorrow.
