All Manhasset residents are invited to come to a special homecoming this year that hopes to help in the healing of the community, a homecoming that will bring the community together, one that also celebrates Manhasset's greatest treasure: its children. Here are the day's activities:

* Community Parade & Gazebo Gathering: The parade will begin at Colonial Parkway & Plandome Road at 12:45 p.m. Many individuals and groups have been invited to march in the parade. Following the parade, spectators and parade participants will gather at the gazebo on Plandome Road. We will honor our recently fallen community members in a moment of silence and then participate in patriotic song.

* Community Fund Raiser Dance "Proud to be an American", 7:30 p.m. - 12 a.m. Manhasset High School Gym. This year's homecoming dance is open to all Manhasset students in grades 9-12. The proceeds from all ticket sales will fund a memorial site in Manhasset in honor of the members of the Manhasset community who were victims of the World Trade Center tragedy. The dance, generously sponsored by the SCA, will feature a DJ, a band, door prizes, food and beverages. Students who do not attend Manhasset High School can purchase tickets through Semiramis Geiger (365-3366) or in the main lobby of Manhasset High School on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 6 - 8 p.m. School picture ID required. Tickets are $10. You may also call Manhasset High School at 627-8000, ext. 2230, for further information.

All Manhasset residents are, of course, invited to attend the football game at 2 p.m. The half-time entertainment will feature a medley, "Spirit of America," performed by the award-winning Manhasset High School Marching Band led by Randy Knudsen. There will also be a concessions stand.

Please join us for this special homecoming. Thank you.
