On behalf of Manhasset Post 304 American Legion and the Auxiliary Unit, I want to express our deepest condolences to those who have lost or are missing their loved ones - as a result of the horrific events on Sept. 11 in New York, Washington, DC and Pennsylvania. We all honor these loved ones and pray for them and for our country in these trying times.

Our patriotic spirit and strength that unifies us has been greatly revitalized in the wake of these horrific events. An example is displaying of the American flag and it is especially important for all in our community to do this. Respect for our flag, inspiring patriotism, and promoting good citizenship are ideals of the American Legion and of all freedom loving people everywhere.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families and communities affected by these horrible acts of terrorism. God Bless America!

Ed Gaus, commander

Manhasset Post 304, American Legion
