Brother Patrick J. Long, 73, formerly Brother Ronald Bernard, died on June 19, 2001, in Santa Cruz, CA. He had been a Marist Brother for 56 years.

Brother Long taught history at St. Mary's High School in Manhasset for 14 years.

He also taught at Central Catholic High School in Wheeling, WVA, Archbishop Molloy High School in Jamaica, NY, Christopher Columbus High School, Miami, FL, and Monsignor Pace High School, Opa Locka, FL.

Brother Long was very active for many years in the Outreach Program and with homeless people in Santa Cruz, CA.

He was pre-deceased by his sister, Margaret Varian, and his brother, Thomas Long. He is survived by his sisters, Agnes Beaury and Nora Fox, and by many nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.
