Latest rumor has it that the Library Board is now favoring the present Onderdonk location for a new library. Meanwhile I have completed detailed parking lot drawings and can now present definitive parking space counts. You may recall that in my letter to the editor dated May 3 (Library Board Wants Sabena) I guaranteed at least 10 spaces instead of the 87 they showed at Onderdonk. Even allowing 8,000 square feet of space at the Northern Boulevard end, which is more than their 87 parking space drawing allowed, we can have 115 nine foot wide parking spaces. Furthermore, our layout is so designed that, with minor changes, if need be in the future we can even go as high as 126 spaces. Parking spaces in Manhasset are pure gold. We cannot afford to squander even one.

I'm assuming that their architects are going to work on increasing their original 87 parking spaces (includes two extra for invalids). In March I informed the library director that I am willing to work with the architects if the library board requests me to do so.
