Adam Thoelen (12) won the Nassau County Shot-put title, throwing 46 ft. one inch last week at Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy. Adam will throw in the New York State Meet at Mitchel Field this Saturday, June 9. Adam plays football, runs indoor track and outdoor track. He has made tremendous progress in his two years of track and field and will throw at Boston College next year.

Jamiel Hendricks (11) won the Nassau County Long Jump title at 21' 11 1/2". Jamiel is a two-time outdoor champion and one-time indoor champion and will compete in his third state meet this weekend. He was All-State Indoors 2001 at Carrier Dome in Syracuse and All-State last spring at Syracuse. Jamiel has a personal best jump of 22' 11", third all-time at Manhasset.

Anwar Huffman (12) won the Nassau County High Jump title, jumping his personal best 6' 4". His teammate Garrett Spitz (11) jumped 6' 3" in the same meet to give Manhasset two top jumpers. Anwar plays football (QB), basketball and outdoor track and is captain in all three sports. He is a four-year top track athlete and will compete this Saturday in his second Outdoor State Track Meet. The first was in 1999 in Kingston, NY. Anwar is a two-time Nassau County high jump champion and will play football for Fairfield University next fall.

Robert Keizer (10) won the Nassau County Triple Jump championship last week at Kings Point and will jump in the state meet this Friday. Robert, only a sophomore, has already jumped 45' 6 1/2" for third all-time at Manhasset and is rated as one of the top three jumpers on Long Island. Robert plays football, basketball and outdoor track. He is undefeated this year, winning all league meets, divisionals, conferences and county titles.
