Most Manhasset residents know John Hinde as Santa Claus. He's the gentleman who greets the children at the Manhasset Post Office every Christmas, has his picture taken with the children and gives them a small gift. Edward Winrow, the Manhasset Park district commissioner with the most seniority, won the support recently of his two fellow commissioners and has been elected chairman of the board. The chairman presides at the district's public meetings, which are conducted twice a month, and has significant input on the agenda items that come before the board of commissioners. FULL STORY
