Brugal and Morrison's sixth grade lax team opened the season with a feisty 11-1 win over Rockville Centre Sunday afternoon. The display of teamwork was impressive, with five different players scoring, and all 11 goals assisted. Ryan Young and Peter Kratsios led the team with three goals and two assists each, followed by Daniel Karges and Michael Marchasalla with two goals and one assist each. Kevin Young (two assists) was a huge asset, scooping up the ground balls and setting up the offense. John Kucharczyk and Colin Quinn, each with one assist, added even more depth to the midfield play. Daniel Brugal (one goal, two assists) led the attack, moving the ball with consistency and accuracy. John Rapiel, also diligent on attack, was a great contributor to the game.
Goalie James Petracca (11 saves) and his gatekeepers, Rob O'Connell, Patrick English, DJ Cisek, Mickey Madden and James Donoghue stonewalled Rockville Centre, keeping them almost scoreless. The team is off to a strong start and will be ready for next Sunday's matchup vs. West Islip. Go Manhasset!
