The family and friends of Claes Eric Corin gathered at the St. James Plantation Chapel on Feb. 2, 2001, to celebrate 78 years of life and to mark his passing. He is survived by his wife, Maria B. Corin of St. James, NC; daughters, Linda C. Batley, Pittsboro, NC, Sonja L. Munoz, Port Washington, and son, Christian D. Corin of Plandome, their spouses, and five grandchildren.

Martin Lowlicht passed away on Feb. 1, 2001, after a brief illness. He was born in New York City in 1912 and was a resident of Manhasset for the past 52 years. He served with honor in the United States Navy for three-and-a-half years during World War II. He was an executive with Mercantile Stores Inc. of New York City for 49 years and was a well- known figure throughout the garment industry. He was a member of Knickerbocker Yacht Club for 35 years. He is survived by his wife, Claire, his daughter, Nan Hall of Tiverton, RI, his son, Dr. Roger Lowlicht of Pine Orchard, CT, and four grandchildren.

Ruth Phipps Dunn, 88, of Severna Park, MD, and formerly of Manhasset, died February 10 following a lengthy illness.

Born December 14, 1912, in Flint, MI, Mrs. Dunn grew up in Plandome and graduated from Manhasset High School. She received a bachelor's degree from Duke University.

The former Ruth Emily Phipps was married in April, 1941, to Charles W. Dunn, who survives. Also surviving are her son Bradley Dunn of Severna Park and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker, raising her family in Manhasset. Following her husband's retirement from Grumman in Bethpage, they moved to Charlottesville, VA, where they lived until 1995. She and her husband then settled in Severna Park to be close to her son's family. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and various civic organizations. Her hobbies included ballroom dancing, needlework, decorating and gardening.

Memorial services and burial will be in Scotland Neck, N.C. Arrangements are by Letchworth Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cardiac Care Unit, North Arundel Hospital, 200 Hospital Drive, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.

Joseph L. Giffuni of Plandome died on Feb. 7, 2001. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Marie. He is survived by his son, Louis, and granddaughter, Katie, and by his brother, Vincent. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Weigand Brothers Funeral Home in Williston Park. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 10, at St. Mary's R. C. Church in Manhasset with interment following at Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
