Evelyn Eckenroth Benisch of Plandome died on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at home in her 98th year. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Edward Benisch. She was the loving mother of Charles and John, and loving mother-in-law of Nancy and Muriel; adored grandmother of Susan, Christopher, Loel, Erik, Diane, John, Joanne and Jason; devoted great-grandmother of Stephen, Emily, Lindsey, William, John, Peyton and Spencer.

Private memorial for her family was held on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at The Congregational Church of Manhasset. The family suggests that memorials in her name be given to the Memorial Fund of The Congregational Church of Manhasset.
