As a Plandome resident, I am not eligible to vote in the Manhasset Park District election. But I certainly am eligible to voice my thoughts on the last minute, smear campaign in the form of a letter which is being used to discredit the reputation of Michael Adams.
Commissioner Adams has a very long record of dedication to the welfare of this community; his vision for the development and preservation of space in Manhasset has been invaluable. He has been unstinting in his support of programs to improve the quality of life which we enjoy. Without hesitation, Adams took responsibility for an action he had cause to regret, and the man said so publicly.
The author or authors of this negative campaign letter, which is filled with vague and misleading statements, have a long road to travel before they can measure up to the level of service and loyalty to Manhasset given by Michael Adams. For starters, they might try showing the courage to send a signed letter instead of an unsigned one.
