Dr. John G. D'Alessandro, 54, died on Oct. 6, 2000. His wife, Peggy, son, Gene, and two daughters, Valerie and Lorie Kilada and son-in-law, Joseph Kilada, survive him. He is formerly from Glen Ridge, NJ and is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Gene L. D'Alessandro and two sisters, Diane Murphy and Susan Harriott and husband, Rex Harriott.
He was a respected psychologist with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from St. John's University. Dr. D'Alessandro earned the highest honor awarded to psychologists, a Diplomat in Clinical Psychology. He was active in both private and public practice in Nassau and Suffolk counties. He was the supervising psychologist at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center and a forensic expert for the Nassau County Department of Mental Health.
He has resided in Port Washington since 1979 and was a member of the Port Washington Yacht Club. He enjoyed sailing and power boating on LI Sound and was active in trapshooting, hunting, skiing, biking and tennis.
He is mourned by his family, friends, colleagues and all the lives he has touched.
Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Funeral Home, Manhasset. A service was held at St. Peter of Alcantara Church and interment was at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, NJ.
