Democratic Leader Meets the Press
Assemblyman Thomas DiNapoli paid a visit to Anton Community Newspapers and had a round table discussion with a group of editors. Assemblyman DiNapoli's district includes Great Neck, Manhasset, Port Washington, North Hills, and parts of Roslyn and Albertson. It was in his capacity as Democratic leader of Nassau County that he responded to most of the questions.

One Last Look at Summer Fun
If you chanced a moment's glance while passing the bay during the summer, from the distance you could easily have spotted them from any vantage point along the water's edge. Swooping, circling or beelining for the shore, they were usually in groups, usually together, but not always because in every group there is the occasional maverick who can't resist cutting across the water, breaking away from the crowd. The sunny, breezy days are naturally the best, but the hardier, more seasoned of these enjoyed the challenge of rain drenched days on the water almost as much. "These," of course, are the junior sailors of summer.

On the Bay
Last Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23-24, was a rainy, dreary kind of weekend, just the opposite of the spectacular sun-filled days enjoyed last week. It served as a reminder that summer is over and the cooler days of fall are on the horizon. Knickerbocker YC served as race committee for the last official day of bay racing.
