Chamber to Salute Morris, Trombley
The Manhasset Chamber of Commerce has announced its selection of Man and Woman of the Year. They are Postmaster Robert Trombley and Nancy Morris, past president of the Tower Foundation. They will be honored at the Chamber's annual cocktail party on Sunday, Nov. 5, at Strathmore Vanderbilt Country Club.

Plandome to Increase Review of Building Permits
Two items of note came out of an otherwise routine Plandome Village monthly meeting. In an ongoing effort to back up the Nassau Police Department and their effort to enforce local laws, the village named Heidi McNamara as the third prosecuting attorney in the village. Her appointment is in direct response to the increased number of summonses being issued within the village, mainly for automobile violations. The village is making a clear statement that local laws are going to be enforced and that the safety of village residents remains paramount.

Bullets Shoot to Championship!
Over the last weekend in August, 384 soccer teams from Canada to Virginia competed in the East Meadow soccer tournament under hazy, hot conditions. The Manhasset Bullets girls under 16 soccer team, playing "up" in the under seventeen age group, captured the "major division" high school league tournament championship with smart, strong team soccer by the 16-player squad.
